Ride for Freedom!

Escape the predictable routine of your everyday... and ride into the two-wheeled adventure of a lifetime!

Strange sights... remote lands... Experience an extravaganza of Asian sensory overload, whilst blazing a trail for the liberation of children trapped in the sex trade. Extend your personal horizons... and make a significant difference in the lives of the enslaved and broken.

Throttle up the FREEDOM, as you ride through Northern Thailand, trail across rugged mountain terrain, then nudge into Burma – your journey will bring awareness to the plight of children trapped in sexual bondage, while raising funds for their rescue and rehabilitation.

Engage with new environments: a rudimentary culture, spicy curries and scrumptious stir fries, twangy tones, and the wonderfully unique people who call the infamous Golden Triangle, “home”.

Your tour begins in Chiang Rai - Destiny Rescue's base, and unravels along 1500 kms of fantastic biking roads around Northern Thailand - encompassing both the stunning and bizarre! Wind, dust, the occasional downpour, and sun drenched valleys, are all woven throughout this experience.

We will be pursuing an arresting scenic route, cruising through Thai villages and rustic roadside communities, which will offer a smorgasbord of unforgettable photo opportunities! The landscape boasts a vibrant diversity of lush rice paddies, settled amongst rising limestone cliff faces, exotic forests and roughly cultivated farmland.

We have integrated a heap of fun at each overnight destination and hardcore miles through corkscrew winding stretches and traversing mountainous landscapes. You will be sure to have catalogued yourself memories for a lifetime!

Feb 3rd - 14th 2014 • 2 Countries • 1500klms... & lives changed forever!

This is a bike touring adventure with ONE MAJOR DIFFERENCE to all other bike tour operators. We are not doing this to make a profit for an individual or business. We are a non profit organisation, that exists to rescue children from the sex industry and help them find a new life of freedom. This ride has been created as a means to raise the much needed funds to keep the rescue teams searching for the young, the trapped...the helpless. With your support (and your tour dollars) we can together embark upon a wonderful and exciting adventure - and help stem the trafficking of young girls at the same time. Do more with your hard earned money than just pour it into another man’s pocket... Join the ‘Ride 2 End Slavery’ and see your money go further than you ever thought possible... towards making a better life for these little ones. Ride Itinerary (2014)

This itinerary is intended as a guide only. Everything is subject to change at anytime without notice. All distances and times mentioned are approximate only because the road and weather conditions can change without warning.

Day 1 - Travel, arriving into Bangkok & shuttle to hotel.

Day 2 - Fly to Chiang Rai (Northern Thailand) in the morning or early afternoon, depending on your flight schedule. We will check you in to your Hotel then visit the Rescue properties in Chiang Rai and see the rescued girls creating jewellery and various items for sale. All products are for sale, so if you see something you like, please feel free to make a purchase. They make beautiful and meaningful gifts for the family back home! Dinner and ride briefing with the team at the Destiny Rescue Cafe before an early night in preparation for the big ride the next day.

Day 3 - Ride East towards the Laos border. We depart in the morning after a big breakfast for our first day’s ride - approximately 6.5 hours on some of the most amazing windy roads through the ranges east. We will arrive high in the mountains at Bo Kluea where we will check in, relax over a few drinks and prepare for the next days ride down the mountain.

Day 4 - Phayao - A ride down the mountain to Nan for lunch then west across a few ranges to the lake city of Phayao. We will check into our Lake-front hotel and relax. The lake is an amazing place to walk and photograph. Dinner will be wood fired pizza from ‘The Brick Oven’ - hand made with love!

Day 5 - Ride to Chiang Mai. More great road with plenty of twists and turns awaits you this day as we head toward Thailand’s second biggest city. The final 30 minutes ride will be in and around Chiang Mai’s bustling streets on our way to the hotel...a ride you will not soon forget.

Day 6 - All Day in Chiang Mai. This will be free time, where you can put on your tourist cap. We will have set meeting times for meals, but you will largely have the liberty to explore or rest. Go Zip lining through ancient Thai forests, fish for massive catfish in a nearby lake, take an ATV ride through the jungle - or simply take it easy in town, do some shopping or take in a movie. Dinner tradition in Chiang Mai is Miguel’s - an amazing Mexican Restaurant.

Day 7 - Ride to Pai. 722 curves on the road to Pai... need we say more?

Day 8 - Free day in Pai. A fabulous little mountain town with much to see and do... A day trip to Lod Cave in Pangmapha is planned where you will take a traditional bamboo raft journey upon the river that runs through the bat-lined caverns. A adventure photographer’s dream.

Day 9 - Visit Chiang Dao Cave and an athentic Thai village. After an early breakfast, we will travel back down the mountain range and the 722 turns and check in at our Chiang Dao Hotel. From there we ride to the Chiang Dao Caves for a time of exploration then on to take a dip in the thermal hot springs nearby. Also a stop in at a local Thai village to meet the family of Wee our trusty ride mechanic and interpreter. A great opportunity to see how the villagers have lived for hundreds of years.

Day 10 - Back to Chiang Rai. This is a ride day to make it back to Chiang Rai. The route this day takes us right to the edge of Thailand’s Westerly boarder with Burma through some amazing mountain roads. Lunch at Fang before heading off to Chiang Rai. Get settled back into the hotel and then off to The Destiny Cafe for dinner and Night Bizarr Market shopping.

Day 11 - Crossing the Border to Burma. This is a day of market shopping and sightseeing. View the Monkey Temples and Caves on the way to the border crossing. Shop till you drop once we cross the boarder in the Burma Markets. We will cross the border back into Thailand around lunchtime, eat lunch then ride back to Chiang Rai.

Day 12 - Chiang Rai. In the morning take a Thai longboat ride to an elephant village where everyone can change gears and clamber aboard an elephant! After our final lunch together, each rider will catch an evening flight to Bangkok, then a connecting flight to their home country.
